Bondage Tape

What even is bondage tape and how does it work??
You may have heard of Bondage Tape. It’s tape that only sticks to itself. Good for binding a partner’s hands, feet, arms or legs together, and convenient because it isn’t actually sticky. It will leave no adhesive residue, will cause no pain when removing, and is completely reusable. How could this even be possible??
Bondage tape is made of PVC, exactly the same stuff as cling film, and it works in mostly the same way: with electrostatic force. Electrostatic force is the force of attraction or repulsion between electrically charged objects. It's a fundamental force of nature, arising from the interaction of charged particles. Opposite charges attract, while like charges repel each other. A more familiar term for this might be “static electricity”. Friction causes electrons to transfer between the film layers, creating areas of positive and negative charge. These oppositely charged areas then attract each other, causing the tape to stick to itself. This combined with the internal/external pressure of whatever it’s binding locks the tape in place, and makes for an excellent residue-free bondage experience.
More versatile and gentle than the traditional handcuffs or rope, bondage tape can be good for beginners, those with a low pain tolerance, or people with sensitive skin. It all comes down to preference. It’s great for use with water as it’s “stickiness” doesn’t rely on adhesive, good for quick readjustments without being easy to wriggle out of, and can be repurposed for many things like blindfolds or gags.
The most creative use, however, that I’ve ever seen for it, is from one of my friends who came into the store once to buy some. He coyly looked at me and said “you know what I’m gonna do with this?” I rolled my eyes and laughed, asking him what he was going to use it for, sure I had a pretty good idea of it already. However, he completely surprised me when he said:
“I’m gonna use this to package my Magic The Gathering cards.”
So really anyone can benefit from Bondage Tape- even if you aren’t doing bondage.
