Welcome back to the blog. Today we're talking about butts and sex and the digestive system. The rectum, the end portion of the digestive track where poop is stored, is designed to pull water out of food matter so we can get that shit (haha) out easily. Why does this matter? Let's get into it.
Because the rectum is literally designed to suck up liquid, it means it cannot self-lubricate like a vagina can. We love butt play because there are so many nerve endings to play with. The super awesome nerve endings are many, cool, that also means we absolutely need lubrication when doing butt stuff. Don't get over your head, we promise anal sex will be 1000% more comfortable with some kind of lube. What kind of lube? Great question!
Water based lube is the standard, it's easy to wash off and is safe for every material. Butt today we learned that the rectum (where we're in with butt play) absorbs water, so water based lubes will be quickly absorbed into the walls of our insides.
Silicone lube does not contain water, so it will live peacefully on any surface until you remove it/push it out of your body. This makes it fantastic for anal play! BIG WARNING THOUGH! Do not use silicone lube with your silicone toys! They will turn into goop! Metal and glass are perfect for silicone lube though.
Okay so what am I suppose to use if I prefer silicone toys? Hybrid lubes and oil based lubes work great too. Oil based is similar to silicone lube and will sit wherever and not get absorbed. Another BIG WARNING! No oil on latex condoms if you are using them for protection! The oil will damage the condom barrier and allow bad little things to get through! Oil is okay on silicone, glass and metal.
Hybrid lubes are still technically water based but have a non-pure form of silicone ingredient that slows the absorption and drying of lube. Hybrid lubes are safe for any material so I always have a bunch of this on hand. This has become my standard lube over the years.
