Staff Review - Lovense Spinel

Staff Review - Lovense Spinel

An in house review of the Lovense Spinel Thrusting, Vibrating & Heating Dildo Machine.

A few weeks ago, I talked about investing in a Lovense Spinel post-breakup. My coworker said to me, “this is the most post-breakup purchase ever made.” And they are not wrong, like, at all. The thought process behind this purchase was clear. Break up, think about sex, go aw shit, look at sex machines online, realize that they are big and expensive, remember my job, go to work and buy the product we approved and brought in.

Now that I’ve used it, I will give my honest review. As always, I do not get paid to write these reviews. I am usually given demos for free to try-with no obligation from any entity to be nice-or I buy the toy with my own money because I want it. Let’s see if my $299.95 + local taxes was worth my paycheck.

The insertable parts of the toy are body safe silicone, smooth and velvety, and a nice size. Anything bigger would be crazy but it’s not underwhelmingly small.

There are heating, thrusting and vibrating functions. You can have all of them on or pick which ones you like most. The thrusting starts fast and only goes faster. The vibration starts strong and, yeah, only goes stronger. The heating is just on or off and has an auto-limit-detection, so it doesn’t get too hot.

There are different attachments for both the insertable parts and the base handle of the toy. Insertable attachments are a straight dildo, g-spot dil, and an optional clitoral stimulation ring. You can pick a suction or handle base. The base options can pivot to an angle you like best.

Like all Lovense products, part of the premium we pay is for their app that allows for long distance play and more stream-lined controls. You are free to use the Spinel with the build in buttons with the app.

Whew okay. Lots of stuff here but the straightforward summary is:

You put it in and turn it on!

I would say the Spinel does the things it is advertised to do. It is powerful and compact, around the size of a massage gun (It also looks like and is great as a massage gun, but in cuter colours).

However, I will share my qualms like a good internet reviewer.

The heating is slow and is uneven. It takes a while to heat up and it’s just the head of the dildo that gets warm. It is only the straight dil that has the hardware to heat up, so the g-spot one will be forever cold. I don’t usually use the heating function on any toy so take my complaints with a grain of salt. I would rather implore a cup of warm water than pay for heating functions.

I don’t like calling this a “sex/fuck machine” because the thrusting is very short. Big sex machines can move because they have long arms that allow for distance. The Spinel does short but very fast thrusts. If you have internal pain or prefer gentle thrusts and vibrations, please avoid this one.

The thrusting only works if there is minimal resistance. If you are not warmed up and clench too tightly it will stop thrusting and resume when freed. Regardless of which entrance you are using, I would recommend warming up with your fingers or another toy.

The attachment dildos are the only thing that can screw onto the machine. This is not one of those toys that have vac-u-lock. What you get is what is going in you.

This thing is LOUD. It’s better when it’s inside you. If you live with roommates, I think they’ll hear even with the door closed. If they are in another room, it’s okay but heed my warning.

My one tip for this toy is to not put too much resistance onto it. If you are using the handle attachment, do not hold it too rigidly. You’ll have a better time if you hold it loosely and let the machine do it’s thing.

Since this review is already so long I’ll leave the specs and further details out of the actual review. Charge time and numbers are in the description of the web-listing.

Is it worth it?

I think if you live a compact lifestyle and enjoy lots of stimulation this is great. It’s not a hassle to set up or take down. I like the different handle options as it gives you lots of different positions to play with. I love not having to move as much, it makes masturbating more relaxing and less taxing as someone with disabilities. Charging time is reasonable given the long battery life. If you want deep thrusting, I would save up for a proper sex machine. If you have no interest in their app, I would consider other options. I love the Lovense app and the connectivity, so I think it’s worth the price.

As always, come in and see the demo for yourself. Nothing beats seeing things in real life.

Peace and Love.
