About Valetines Day…

Hello all! It’s Valentines Day soon, whether you partake or not, it’s a good excuse to have a day of loving. Last year I wrote about self-love in the face of seeing everyone on social media having their Valentines dates. This year, I’ll go over it again.

I think it’s important to make this Hallmark holiday something more than buying stuff for people. Don’t worry I will still be shilling stuff but remember that it takes nothing more than yourself to make someone’s day better. Someone could be you by the way!

If you’re one of the folks working this February 14th (like us) you won’t have all day to frolic around doing stuff of love. Let’s take a look at what you can do on your down time for a bit of self love.

Candle lit bath

Turn the lights off and light some candles for that spa mood. I know it’s ill advised to drink in the bath, however there is nothing I love more than a drink and a movie when soaking. I keep my screen on the toilet seat to avoid accidents, but you could also pull up a chair. I would treat myself to some bath salts or a bath bomb too. We only have candles that double as moisturizer. No salts or bombs. They’re in cute heart shaped tins! Not Valentines exclusive, we always have them, but they fit the season!

Sensual Masturbation

Let’s set the mood and turn on your favourite sensual tunes, dim the lights, and tell your roommate to leave you alone. We might not have time to properly enjoy ourselves when life gets busy. Give yourself space to explore yourself and forget about shit, just for a bit. Put your phone down and mute it for a couple of hours. You’re going to be taking care of yourself for a bit, and who knows you better than yourself? If you’re the messy kind throw down a towel or get one of our waterproof blankets. We have a smaller/lighter one here too. Whatever you use will make future cleanup way easier.

A Nice Dinner

Cook yourself a nice meal or go out by yourself. You could always order in but somehow it feels less ceremonious when you end up with a bunch of plastic containers. There’s something special about dedicating time to cook for yourself. Even if you just make pasta with butter and pepper it’ll go great with a beer, I promise. Eating by yourself at a restaurant is more common these days and I think that’s great. I go to restaurants by myself all the time and enjoy mealing at my own pace. No stress, no awkward conversations, no bill splitting arguments. My favourite part of dinning out, no dishes!

Regardless of whether you’re celebrating with someone or just yourself, find time to show love and appreciation for your life. If you are in a relationship and reading this, come and visit us as a fun Valentines date! It does get really busy during this season so we recommend coming earlier in the day if you want more time to ask us questions.

Peace and Love.
