Dildo Care and Body Safety

There are a couple things to know about before putting things inside your body. Here's a small guide to staying safe when using toys!

This article is for insertables, dildos, insertable vibrators, etc.

Materials

Keep your body safe by sticking to non-porous materials, such as high quality glass, stainless steel and body safe silicone. These are easy to clean and will not absorb body fluids or lube. Plastics like PVC, BPA and TPA should be avoided as they can leak toxins into you body. They are also difficult to clean and can absorb fluids that generate harmful bacteria.

Cleaning

If your toy is made completely of body safe materials, it can be easily sanitized by boiling it in water for a couple minutes. Boil washing should be avoided if your toy has other components such as a vibrator or plastic handles. Boil washing is just a more complete way to clean toys. It's not necessary to boil wash every time you use your toys. You should, however, wash your toys with warm soap and water or toy cleaner after every use.

We have lots of great toy cleaner you can find in store or online here!

Lube

It's important to not use silicone based lubes with silicone toys. They can degrade the silicone toy. Try to avoid oil based lubes with your silicone toys too. There are conflicting opinions on oil based lubes and silicone toys. Stick to water based lube and save yourself the headache.

Other materials (glass, steel) are good for all lubes.

Stay safe and have fun~
