Waking Up Wet?

About wet dreams...
Have you ever woken up from your slumber only to find a puddle of suspicious substances in your underwear and on your bedding? Welcome to the world of wet dreams. Not everyone has them or remembers it, but it is a common phenomenon and nothing to worry about. Let’s dive into the basics of wet dreams and why they happen, if you can induce/reduce them, and when to talk to a professional.
Wet dreams are usually associated with puberty but can occur at any age. They are natural and a result of hormones doing their thing while you’re asleep. While it is more common for penile ejaculation to occur from wet dreams, vaginal ejaculation or high mucus discharge is not uncommon either. While we are awake, we can get horny. Sometimes due to stimulation-or just because our body wants to-our brain releases hormones that cause sexual arousal. This is also possible when we are asleep. The more vivid your dream, the more dopamine is released. When enough dopamine is released, your body may unconsciously climax.
There is not really a way to tell your unconscious mind to stop wet dreams, however it is more common to have wet dreams when you have not engaged in sexual activity in a while. Finding the possible source of your sexual frustrations and talking it out with someone or journalling may help reduce your wet dreams. We are trying to dig up the root of the issues deep in our subconsciousness to better understand ourselves. Holding off on orgasming may induce wet dreams if that is what you desire.
Sex dreams and wet dreams are not co-dependant. Your sex dream can be a wet dream or could just be an independent sex dream. You might have a mundane dream about frying eggs and wake up realizing you orgasmed in your sleep. Some find wet dream sleeps to be rejuvenating, like a load off your shoulders. Others may not be as pleased with the mess they have to clean up.
Frequent wet dreams are not a health concern; it is normal and common. If wet dreams are causing distress and ruining your sleep quality, consider talking to a professional health care or mental health physician. It may be an indicator of hormonal imbalances or there is something in your life that is stressing you out.
Again, wet dreams are normal and natural. There is nothing to be ashamed of. Since you can’t control it, you might as well enjoy the ride. And if it is stressing you out, there might be something in your life you need to figure out.
Peace and Love.
