SEX WORK DURING A PANDEMIC

Listening to CBC radio this morning, I heard a program talking about sex work during covid-19, and how it’s changed the way some people work. A lot of sex workers have had to move their services fully online, offering things like video/camming, photo sets, even writing sensual letters to clients, for those that offer the “significant other experience”. The amount of effort it requires to run a small business is nothing to scoff at, and sex workers are indeed running small businesses that require a ton of effort (now, and before covid). From answering emails and updating websites, to content creation, which includes photo/video equipment, shopping for props, lighting, editing, and coming up with the ideas for these shoots in the first place.
How amazing it would be if we all paid for our porn! We’d be supporting small businesses, and the quality + thought that goes into what you get is amazing. For this holiday season, consider getting a subscription to an online porn site, as a little gift to yourself. Or even better, find some of your favourites on social media, and most likely they’ll have info on how you can support them directly!
