Welcome Back November Feeling

Since y'all didn't listen the first time

Ohhh yeah baby, you remember this one? It’s time for the reprise. But I’ll tell you what- we’re changing the game this year. You wanna know why? NO MORE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS!!!! Can you believe it? We’re finally free from 4pm sunsets, from lunch breaks in the dark, but don’t let this fool you! To think that you could be exempt from the November feeling just because we get to retain our daylight hours would be a fool’s misconception! The November feeling is pervasive and it comes for us all- including you.

Wait, you don’t know what the November feeling is? Uh, yeah you do. For simplicity’s sake, I’ll let myself from last year explain it:

“Every November I get totally bummed out and feel like everything is so over forever- and I never put the pieces together. I never think Oh, it’s November, it’s cold and it’s dark, obviously I feel bad. I think Well, this is it, my entire life is officially over and I’m irreparably boned (and not in the fun way). Because of this, I’ve set up an email that I send to the future every single November that essentially says HEY I KNOW YOU FEEL BAD BUT IT’S JUST BECAUSE IT’S NOVEMBER! THIS IS THE NOVEMBER FEELING IT WILL END SOON! And then I remember that it’s just The November Feeling.”

Because of the idiomatic nature of “The November Feeling”, I anticipated that, now ready for it, I would be immune to the November feeling, and it would not hook it’s claws into me, the email coming redundantly. NOT SO! Knowing about the November feeling does NOTHING to prevent it! It just sneaks up on you in different, insidious ways. No, the only way to treat the November feeling is to mitigate it- and boy do we know how to mitigate it here.

AMBIENCE AND WARMTH

A nice environment makes for a nice mentality. Around this time of year I always add a new string of multicoloured LED lights to my living space so that the colour can be new stimuli for me. Which leads nicely into the winter holiday season, and then I leave it up for an entire year, so that by the time the next November rolls around I’ve grown accustomed to it, and must procure a new one. Another thing I like to do is light candles, which provide a gentle autumn feeling light and a nice smell to fill the air. Additionally, the massage oil candles that melt into a warm lotion take this to the next level so that I can have not only the feeling of a nice environment around me, but also seeping into my skin. That’s the kind of head-on direct approach to warmth you need to take to keeping sane and staving off The November Feeling.

COZINESS VS FRESH AIR

Speaking of warmth, this is a bit of a double edged sword. On the one hand, warmth is crucial to a comfortable November- however, The November Feeling preys on stuffiness and isolation, which is an easy trap to fall into if you’re huddling up alone in dimly lit environments surrounded by smoking candles. In order to not enter the isolated torture cube, you’ll wanna open your windows and let in what little sun and fresh air you can during the day. But of course, while that window’s open, you’re gonna be cold, right? Well fear not, we’ve got warming lubes, waxplay candles, and plenty of vibrators to keep you warm. Inhale that fresh fall air and bask in what little sunlight you can catch in this atmospheric river while keeping yourself as warm as you need.

TO BE GENTLY WARMED LIKE A SOUP

Company makes everything better, of course. Alone time is important, but it has to be balanced with seeing people you love. It may be easy to let seeing people fall by the wayside, especially right now when everybody is busy and the sun doesn’t stay up for long. But that just means you’ve gotta make the little extra push to get out there and see people. Luckily, we’ve made that easy as well, with our seminars. We host events where you can meet like-minded, kinky people and maybe make a new friend! It’ll get you out of the house and into some community connection, which is the best antidote to The November Feeling.

Hopefully armed with these techniques, you will be able to face the November Feeling head-on! Of course, there is a certain degree of inevitability to the November Feeling- you should always give space for your emotions, positive or negative. But that loneliness, that coldness, that sadness? You can feel it and respect it while still knowing it’s only temporary. And hey, if all else fails- just send yourself an email for next year, maybe that’ll be the boost you need to conquer it next time.

Happy November!
